This is a current (2010) map of the general area, Highway 87 from Bolivar peninsula is closed. From Houston/Galveston and points West take I-10 to Port Arthur and then drive south to Sabine City on Highway 87 to Dowling Road and the park.

This is an arial picture of the Sabine Pass Battleground Park. The area marked "Fort Griffin" shows the location today, 2010, of where the fort was located after time, tides and hurricanes have adjusted the coastline of the Sabine River (the dotted yellow line shows the shore line at the time of the battle). The "You Are Here" location is where the kiosk with the interpretive displays is located. The upper left was an elaborate protected boat ramp area that was destroyed by hurricanes Rita and Ike. The bluish area south of that is a parking lot.
