The Company

The company is owned and operated by Michelle and William Weiz, it is a family owned company. It was started on the first day of the new millennium, 2000. William Wiez had been working long, hard hours for another security company with Michelle helping him - though she was not employed by the security company. They decided if they were going to put in that much time and effort, it should be into their own company. William left and started his own company. His first job was to secure a construction site. He manned that post and in his off time solicited other jobs. That was eleven years ago, in Acworth, Georgia, a bedroom community of Atlanta. William was 26 years old. Now William is the President and Michelle the CEO, so that they qualify as a minority business which gives them an edge in bidding municipal and large contracts.

Most all their business has been in the Atlanta area and has grown to over 300 security officers. Their reputation for providing exemplary service above the usual level of most security companies was noted. In 2010, they were encouraged to compete against the likes of Wackenhut, Securitas, Allied Barton and US Security Associates for the national Schwan's Global Supply Chain manufacturing facilities in six states, Minnesota, Kansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Oklahoma and Texas. The evaluation of the competing companies by Schwan's was very thorough and included credit checks, client satisfaction, suppliers as well as performance audits. The business morals and ethics of each company was also investigated. It is to the credit of American Security Associates that they were able to win the competition against a field of 43 companies that included some of this country's best.
